waxing bottom of boat

i was wondering what you can use on the bottom of the boat to wax it or make it faster. I used scotchbrite brillo pads to clean it and scuff it lightly, but i don't know if thats the best idea.

Waxing has actually been proven to slow a boat down a bit because of the beading effect.the best place to get this info would be on a Sailboat forum and hopefully someone that races sailboats will get a look at it and have the answer.I think a light wetsanding was the way to go but I am sure there is an exact science to it.Charlie

There is nothing you can just wipe on the boat to make it faster. Sanding works...

should you sand from front to back, not in a circular motion and 600 grit
