Waxing my boat

I started cleaning my boat up today. In the past I have always just washed and waxed the boat. Would it be a good ideal to put a polisher on after the wash and before the wax. Seems like it would shine better.
Thanks

Re: Waxing my boat

I've been using Meguiar's 3 step system with Color Restorer, Polish and then Wax. Usually has some minor chalking. I do this at the beginning and end of season, and use a cleaner wax a couple times throught the season. I keep my boat in the water in Lake Erie. The only thing I don't like about the wax is it leaves white residue when dry if you don't get it all off.

If anyone has suggestions for a protectant wax or synthetic that doesn't leave residue I'd be interested to hear.

Re: Waxing my boat

If you mean putting a polish on between the 2 steps, that is a good idea.If you mean putting a rotary polisher (not orbital)on it,that would be a great idea.A polisher used correctly is as good as hand polishing the boat 10 times in a row or more.Noooo comparison.Charlie
