webber carb problem

i have a webber 4 barrel carb on my boat that floods when you let it sit for about a 1/2 hour.I searched and found that these carbs are bad to dump fuel from the venture is there a fix for this. the engine s/n is of755984 mecruser 4.3

This issues has been around for a long time, and I don't think there has ever been any resolution.

i got a 4.3lx with 4 barrel and previous owner said that he had issues with the carb flooding, he put a regulator right before the carb and i havent had an issue since iv had it.

This is a seperate issue, the flooding referred to be the OP, occours while the engine is off, so the pump is not running. Plus, if the correct fuel pump is used, there is no need for an external regulator.
