Re: Weird Fueling Behavior

Hose entry in rear of tank, have everyone stand on the bow. Hose in front, have everyone sit on the transom while fueling.

Leveling aside, I have everyone off the boat during refuel (new rule as of 2009). If I have to post some stories and pictures to complete the hijack, I will.
Especially if you think you may have issues with fuel or vent lines. Fire up the boat with kids and guests in the cuddy when you've got a couple of gallons of gas in the bilge.

Sorry, there was a nasty accident at a gas dock on LOTO and my new rule is everyone off the boats until refuel and restart is complete. Sorry for the hijack.

I refuel on the back of my trailer at a gas station. I never have to worry about fuel spills and nasty penalties at the fueling dock. (My boat sleeps in the driveway.)

The SeaRay is normally fueled while behind the truck. The Starcraft is fueled at the marina or at our dock.
Fueling at our dock is when I discovered a bad seal on the sending unit for the fuel guage. It was a serious pain to clean that out of the bilge.
