Congrats TD!

Man oh man, is that going to be fun or what... St. Johns cruise?

I'd get one of those camper enclosure things, a porta-potti, a cooler, some extra gas, a cot, and then just idle my way into the sunset. Dang!

Congrats again!

$1800!!!! what a find, I really don't see how you can go wrong and it is already a CC so you won't have to mess with that.

Nice.

Re: well i bought one.

got it home, long day and drive, excellant to tow, in much better condition, than i thought. it's 2004 50 hp Johnny instead of a 40hp. has sat for 3 years, so carb cleaning is in my future. great compression, and spark.

2 bow fishing seats, gate is off the bow, so no problem with the wireless trolling motor. attached to the center console are a back to back seat, with livewell, and dry storage, then helm double bench, and across the strean is a full couch. i going to openly say "i stole this one also"!!!!! will get pics soon.

Re: well i bought one.

when they pop up on craigslist you have to be ready to make the move. the carbs was full of oil, siphoned down as the tank was higher. cleaned and fired right up.

Re: well i bought one.

I have been eying those for some time..... look like the best fishing platform you can get. I rebuilt one about 16 years ago with all new decking and carpet...... real simple construction.

I would have some clear plastic sides made for the "stormy" days.

Looks like a great restoration project. Is the deck solid?

Man, That is a "Honey"! Perfect layout, and size! Plus, a nice late model 50hp Johnny to boot, I'd grab it in a heartbeat, and I'm not even into Toon's. I think you got The Deal of the Century! Good Luck TD ;)

Can't beat the price. Looks like a great project, just the kind that moves along fast, keeping the motivation factor high.

The part I like best about your new project, is no fiberglass sanding and grinding!

Hows the motor run? In Europe your total cost for the package could almost be recovered just by selling it.

so far the motor runs great, going to try to do impeller today. new steering system, and converting to premix and taxes, title transfer, registration boat and trailer, set me back $300. impeller and the rest i should get out with another $200.

your pictures helped me with the height of the engine,, I suspected mine was way too low,, your engine being a 50 johnson mine is the 50 evinrude. giving me a lot of trouble with weeds fouling the prop,, worse than riding a ski, I raised mine 3.5 inches to get the cavitation plate even with the bottom of the engine tray. plus my engine was so low that water sprayed all over the engine cover.

Looks OK, noting a little duck tape cant fix!

Now you'll have to move to the boat restoration forum!
