You know, that's not a bad idea. The thing is, you've got it wrong as to starvation. Beef is a very inefficient food. Kill the cattle, and the water and grain they consumed will be available for human consumption. Even the most conservative estimates state that it takes 2.6 pounds of grain to produce a pound of beef.

Like it or not, global climate change theory is based on good scientific observation and the human contribution to CO2 in the atmosphere is extremely well documented.

Yes, it was warmer in the Middle Ages. There are still natural weather trends which affect us. The thing is, we built all of our cities around the current coastline and we've adapted to it quite well. If we heat things up again, stuff's gonna get ugly.

Believe me, you don't want to get started on the global warming thing with me. Let's just let it drop and talk about something pleasant, OK?

Ok let us take this converstion private, i will Pm you with goverment and Goa links that will show 1000 yrs of oil and links to the top scientists in the world that have walked form the warming theroy and then you and i will open a debate as toward's your agenda...Agreed.. But for now let us unite for this country. and it"s well being

Psst the answer is to get off your own agenda.....thing's have gone to far for persoanl opinion's... and to a point i agree...but now is not the time for our own opinion's..

I hate to pull out the "overstated historical comparison" card, but I guess I have to. This notion that it's not the time for our own opinions and that times are so desperate that we need to act aggressively and quickly to solve the problem was used in the past by Stalin and Hitler. It was used to justify genocide, slavery, internment camps, and at least one war that the US is in now. It invariably leads to bigger problems than the ones it was intended to solve.

This country has weathered bad times before, and taken them on with a clear head. This country has also taken on some bad times with some exceptionally frightening responses that we've regretted later. How 'bout we try to keep level heads about our current problems and look for long-term solutions instead of trying to drag that last couple of years out of the status quo?

I got a better idea cheburashka. You start another thread and talk about anything you would like to.

This thread was talking about, what a blind person would begin to perceive is, an ever tightening financial situation.

So let me get this straight--you air your side of the debate, but you want me to reserve mine for PMs? Ain't happening. I've read about the scientists who walked away from global warming. The most prominent is a creationist. Several others are reputable, and they raise good points. Still, the vast majority of climatologists continue to support the theory that we're putting too much CO2 into the atmosphere, and that this is going to cause major problems in the next couple of decades. There's dissent, but the consensus is still that global warming is a problem.

I know your stance on the amount of oil that's left. Let's just say that you're in a distinct minority with these beliefs, and that I could point you to just as many "peak oil" arguments that would contradict what you're saying.

Here's what really irritates me right now. I just picked up two new props--a 17P and a 19P, and there's too much chop on the lake to test them out. That's what's wrong with this world. Too much chop on the lake.
