Went to the In-laws this weekend . . . Came home with a 58" HDTV !!!

We went up to the Admiral's hometown this weekend for a little bit of cookout activity etc. Her Dad offered us his 'old' flat screen TV . . . we take a look at it . . . it is a 58" Samsung HDTV Plasma . . . only about 3 years old !!! He said, it may not fit in your car ??? "We'll make it fit" we said. . . .

He said it was too small for him and got a new 72" LCD . . . we weren't expecting to get a TV this weekend, but sure why not???

We only have a 40" LCD in the living room, so it looks like we can 'upgrade' to the 58" . . . I'm wondering where we will put the 40" ??? .

the 40 would have to go in the bedroom!! I was at BJ's last week and man the tv's are getting bigger and bigger. I seen that 72" there and it's a monster. Right now I have a 55" and it's perfect for our room.

I remember as a kid watching the 19" in the living room.... NO remote and NO cable, 6, 10 ,12, and the U channel to get 25, 38, 56, and 64. That was about it!!

Creature Double feature on Saturday afternoon.

Rabbit ears constantly adjusted. It was color but the spare tv was B&W. AH the good ol days!!

Color? You must be a young. I remember watching Gunsmoke and Jack Parr (The Tonight show) on one of these.

My grandparents where one of the first in town to own a Color TV. The house was full of people when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.

Sooner or later you'll come to the realization that the "good ole days" where not all that long ago and not all that good.

This tv is big compared to what i watched as a kid
You must be a younster also. I can remember watching tv on a 8 inch round screen just after tv made it's debut in the 50's. Color tv was a colored peice of cellophane over the screen.

I remember seeing a color TV for the first time in 1964 . . . then I got to watch Super Bowl 1 on a color TV in 1967 . . . my Dad finally got a color TV in 1968. We have come a long way . . . no such thing as HDTV back then.
