Were is a good place to buy new Wiseco pistons for my 1989 Force 125 I have called a few places and emailed them an havent gottten any repleys back,Has anyone used pistonsonline.com? They are standard

I prefer Wiseco because they are much easier to install than standard. They are also forged rather than cast like stock ones. They do tend to be more expensive that stock ones though.

At any rate, you can try them, Vertex, Sierra (usually ordered at NAPA stores) or your local Mercury dealer--if money is no object.

Now, that's unfair! my local Merc dealer does carry Wiseco at a slight discount from what I pay to direct order. They only carry limited sizes though.

Also Frank does the position of the rod bearing cage matter or does it have to go in similer to a standard rod bearing in a car engine even with the edges of the rod cap and rod?

According to the manual there is no special orientation for the big end roller cages. Earlier Chrysler instructions did specify inserting them one way. I don't think it matters. And the cages don't have a lot of clearance between the crank cheeks. basically uou can not get them in wrong

I got my Wiseco pistons putting them on the rods now but when I install the rods to the crank do you put the rollers in the rods or try to stick them on the crankshaft with the assy lube then install the rod and piston. I just noticed on the rods 1 and 2 had the v notch up and 3 and 4 had it down how should they go?

The V notch goes up when assembled on the crank. These rods are cracked cap technology and are NOT like auto rods. The caps are matched to the rod and can only be put on in one direction.

I generally have the engine sitting on a bench. I bring the rod up to the crank and slide in both cages. Then, with grease I slip each roller into a slot and rotate until the bearing is full. Be certain that you account for ALL 16 rollers. Then, before torquing the caps to 180-190 inch pounds, run a pencil over the two ground surfaces. It should be smooth and not catch. If it does catch or bounce, tap the cap lightly to adjust it. Be very fussy at this stage.

I am doing this one though the intake opening I thought it might be easyer to stick the bearings to the crank.

It is a little more difficult that way but I have done it numerous times. In fact, tomorrow I will be replacing two pistons in a 5 cylinder 150 that way.

The rod is a snug fit between the crank cheeks and ot will tend to drop down making it difficult to get it into the bearing area. If your have a wax bearing assembl y greas that will positively stick the rollers and cahges to the crankpin that may work.

Because of the very good possibility of displacing the rollers and cages, I prefer to bring the rod up to the crqankpin then roll the cages around it. Next, using grease I insert each roller one by one until the cages are full. AGAIN: Account for all 16 rollers. You will already have checked the rod cap for correct orientation so install it now. A 12 point 1/4 socket with 1/4 drive and 6 inch extension helps here. SNUG the cap bolts and turn the crank a couple of times. (sometimes a roller will pop out and the cap will not fit correctly) Now check cap alignment. If it is correct, torque the bolts to 180-190 inch pounds.

Pistons in carbs cleaned and reinstalled just waiting on head gasket to get here and put timing light on it. It was tricky but doable. Thanks Frank
