Whaddya Think?

my wife and I got rid of our 19' bowrider and are looking for a boat. we figure on a 21 to 25' cuddy. there are a few models i have my eye on we will use the boat for overnighing at the club, skiing, tubing, fishing, entertaining. we definately want a self bailing fiberglass cockpit.<br />must be trailerable behind a 1/2 ton. we use the boat on Lake Erie.<br /><br />Any input or suggestions welcome.<br /><br />Sea Ray 1989-? 220cc, 230 or 250 cc <br /> <br />Wellcraft 1990-? 233 Eclipse <br /><br />Thompson 220 or 245 Carrerra 1988-?<br /><br />Larson 220 Hampton cuddy (early 90's)<br /><br />Rinker 232 Captiva or older V-230<br /><br />thanks

Don't know much about the others, but I have a 1988 Thompson 220, and love it. Spacious cuddy for a 22', goes on Lake Erie fine, beefy enough to go over waves, but light enough to trailer with my 92 Chevy 1500 2wd pick-up. I give this boat a thumbs up all around. The 5.7 Mercruiser is plenty strong for anything I need, and it isn't so big that it eats you up in gas pulling a tube or skier.

You picked a who's who of excellent boat brands! Obviously you know quality.

Any one of them will be good, but you're talking about 20-year old boats. Their condition and maintenance history will have more importance than comparing manufacturers at this point.
