What am I missing here?

Swapped outdrives and went to swap the props. Took off the old one, which looked like the pic below. It's a standard quicksilver aluminum prop. God knows how long I've been running it like this with apparently no issues, but it struck me that there maybe should probably be more of a hub back there? Looking online I don't see anything that looked like it would fit there.

I thought the "book" said to remove prop, grease splines, etc. as part of the annual maintenance. It should have been easily detected.

I assumed the hub and washer were simply removed before the pic was taken. If they were not installed in the first place, wouldn't the prop have waddled and vibrated like a son of a gun?

I can see Your plastic hub is inside the prop. I don't see your thrust washer in the picture so I'm assuming it's still on your drive.

Yeah, the thrust washer is there. I mean, the splines are there, so presumably there is some sort of hub in there. I just don't know if there should be that void there. I haven't seen a part that would fill it--it would be kind of 4 sided and conical.

Hmm. The thrust washer is on the drive, not in my pic. I don't see how that black piece would fit in the void. What I have in there actually looks like @Yegboats pic, but it doesn't go the full length of the prop. Lemme take a shot from the rear, might help. So I guess the real question is, any harm running what I got?

I knocked out the center splined hub. The plastic piece appears to be in there still. Appears to me that these are the pieces in the pics above, no?

Dont think you are missing anything thrust washer on the drive will have a-ridge that fits in the lip inside the prop.yiu may have to knock the thrust washer off your old drive , it worked last year so must have had all the pieces there. i also have a hub like that is bell shaped

Thanks, that's what I'm thinking. That void is strange though, I have a few other props that don't have it. It's always worked fine. Nothing on there is seized including the thrust washer. Marine grease is your friend.

The first post photo looked perfect to me. That's how the Flo-torq II hubs look! You've left the thrust hub on the prop shaft, and (I assume) you pulled the splined drive section out of the back... What you're looking at it the Delrin sleeve And it looks normal. Take the prop and place in on the ground, or a solid surface front down (So you can see the part where the splined drive part goes in). With a flat screwdriver and a hammer tap LIGHTLY on the bit of plastic you can JUST see inside the prop inner hub. It's going to fall out! You have now remove the Delrin sleeve....

You're used to the old rubber hub. These are the new style. User replaceable.. no more visits to the prop shop to get hubs pressed out and new ones pressed in..
