87 mercury 115hp inline 6..

Someone took my fuel pump.. So.. the numbers were 98766 I believe.. now I am looking for a new one.. err used.

My question is the 2 ports on the face of the pump.. which one is for what? top one (near "out") is crankcase to pump right? Bottom (near "in") was for the oil bottle?

That is the newer style pump. I believe the fuel goes thru the pump via the two ports that line up. The pump bolts to the block to power the diaghram. The port on the side is also a crankcase pressure port.

Does that answer your question?

Thanks for replying Chris.

attached is a photo with red squares around the questionable locations. Should these both just be blocked? My motor has a hose which appears to be coming from the crankcase.

(this is not mine just a google image)

In is for fuel in---Out is for fuel out to the carburetors.
