That looks nice. My cousin bought a Ficht, came with his Parker, we believe his was after the problem years, late 90's? I think 99 and 2000 and up were good. Search Johnson forum to verify. That boat will make you forget the other one real quick!

charlie- why do you say it's a broker? usually the brokers on boat trader list their email address and website. i called the number and got a guy's voice mail. waiting for his return call.

tommays- i'm hoping the engines are sound and want to make a educated decision on the package. the boat fits exactly what i am looking for- larger walkaround, twin engines, good shape (at least from the photos), not too old, and price in my budget. i won't let a certain opinion over a product turn me away until i have all the facts (reminds you of the bayliner post, huh?).

anyone else have an opinion, or can answer the above 3 questions? (wishing more people actually visited the BOAT forum on a BOATING website. should have posted this in dockside chat.)

Matt, Everything I have heard about Striper's are good. Can't comment about the engine though. One thing I can say is that in my opinnion prices on LI are higher then elsewhere when I was researching boats....You may be able to find a similar boat somplace closer to you for less $$$. Maybe?

I've never heard anything bad about Stripers, or the parent-Seaswirl, for that matter.

1999 was not the best year for Ficht. If they have been updated, they're probably OK.

For a semi accurate value check NADA guides . The web site gives you the option of with or without base motor, and you can also check the value of outboards separate. I used the sight regularly when I was searching for a boat. Also google "boat reviews" and you will get lots of sights that have written reviews, but I can't remember if that boat or model was in it.

Re: what are your thoughts on this boat

thanks fellas. already ran nada, base boat with a single 200 was about 23,000. subtract the 200 and add two 150s and i come to 28,000 without the gadgets it might have. i'm worried it doesn't have a trailer, though. i figure the price can come down, especially with the ficht's. i just need to learn everything i can about these motors and develop a plan to check them out thoroughly. the heavy salt use has to be considered as well.
