In general, what would cause an outboard motor to have a mild mis-fire at about 1500 rpm's? All other rpm ranges it runs perfect, lower and higher.

phil,

What kind of engine is it?

Some engines have an inherent stumble at some rpm ranges. If it's some new symptom, I would be concerned.

Misfires can be caused by many things.

If the spark is strong throughout the rpm range, a lean condition may be developing.

It's a 1989 Suzuki 140hp. I just ran it on the water for the first time so I don't know if it has always done it in the past or not. The carbs were rebuilt and cleaned up last week because it used to be hard starting. I just got done talking to the repair guy and he said it's nothing to be concerned about. Didn't know if he was just trying to get out of working on it again or what.
