what cover on your Tracker?

I have a 1993 Pro 17 Bass Tracker. I was wondering what boat covers seem to fit the best and are reasonable price wise.

I am sure there is a part of this forum that deals with covers, but wanted to ask it here, with you fellow Tracker owners, to see what you liked or disliked.

Thanks

Re: what cover on your Tracker?

Sir
I have the same Tracker but a 1997. I bought a silver tarp at Walmart for under $25.00. + 4 BUNGIE CORDS. Both the tarp and bungie cords work great. Plus it is lighter to take on anf off the cover. Walmart makes all different size tarps. I would try this first. It will save you a whole lot of money. If you don't like, then go out and by an expensive boat cover.

I purchased a Dowco boat cover for my Tracker.

However, it does not meet your criteria for reasonably priced. But...you'd get what you paid for.

Re: what cover on your Tracker?

I ordered a Shoremaster custom cover for my 2010 170 TX. I should have it in about a week, I'll let you know how it fits.

I looked at semi-custom and universal covers but the unique shape of a tracker boat makes it difficult to get a good fit. I have an old universal cover from my last boat and because the beam of the 170 is so wide, it barely fits in the back and I have too much width in the front where's narrower than many boats.

Can you let us know what you consider reasonable? The cover I ordered is under $250. If you aren't trailering the cover, you can find a decent cover for around $100-$175.

Or, there's always the Walmart option.

Re: what cover on your Tracker?

i also have a dowco cover for my tracker. at one point i put the cover on for the week we had some rain. not a lot more like a good misting than anything else at the begining of that week. i had left my rods in one of the storage bins. the following weekend i took the rods out to go fishing and thehad mildew on some of the gripping spots on the rods. i havent put the cover back on since. i also no longer store anything in the boat and have a plastic bin for everything except the rods.

not sure what exactly to do about that yet as i would like to keep the cover on but without having to dig mildew out of the boat and carpeting.
