What did you get for Fathers day 2011

I got a 32 inch LCD tv for the bedroom from my kids.

Im happy.

Fried eggs, home fries, ham and coffee and my kids picked up the tab.

I want for nothing. They usually give me gift certificates,but I'd rather be in a restaurant with my two children and grand children.

I asked for nothing every year but they always give me something. Spending time with the kids as you said flyr is what counts.

Assuming the rain holds out, which isn't looking good, I get to put the boat on the water for the first time this year and take the kids fishing. I got them a remote control boat as a surprise, it's hidden in the boat and I'm pretty excited for their reaction when I pull it out when we hit the water. I'm pretty sure we wont get much actual fishing done though.

My daughter(22) will be here by 5 pm, and son(12) here for another week - dd the pool thing alllll day yesterday, will today as well, they making some kind of dinner and going to get me new kitchen tools(cheese grater, etc.) since I cook so much
Just hangin w/ them is enough for me, we have a blast!

My kids gave me a real nice trout fishing shirt and a few other clothes.

To start the day I taught my son and daughter how to shoot a bb gun.

This is my dads old Red Rider, mid to late 1930's I would guess.

They both did a great job and learned really fast; plinking off the pop cans.

I had to try it out and went 5 for 5. So I know it shoots straight. Not bad for a 75 year old gun.

Just wanted to share one of the nice moments of being a father. It also brought back some great memories of doing things with my dad.

A nice Craftsman tool kit to go in the boat when its done and an extension cord like the one I'm always dragging back and forth between my basement wood shop and the garage.

Cards. Then we went on a cruz with the "Goat". Daughter and I went out and found some wild 'shrooms(oysters) to go with the steaks "I'm" grilling shortly......

I mentioned what AZBoatDreamer received, all I got was "you're not getting one".

The family has a party at The Hideout planned for next weekend (schedules, etc), but Daughter #1 is on duty then so:

She came and got me this AM and took me to Cabelas for a shopping spree. Got a Columbia fishing shirt and hat, moccasins and ordered a pair of Merril slip ons. Then went to an exotic restaurant and ate a chunk of dead steer and tried some Belgian beer (great).

Best of all I got to spend several hours, ein und ein, with my treasured #1. Great conversation.

An altogether wonderful day. I am sooooo blessed.

Isn't it a great feeling!!! Congratulations! I have two and they are great fun and what a great "payback" tool they can be Spoil the hell out of the grandkids!!!!!

Today for Father's Day ......... I called my S-Dad and I rec'd a call from my Son. Actually the best gift I received is that my Son got approved to purchase a home only 3 miles away in the same town as me

Got to talk with my son who is serving in Afghansitan, and my out of state daughter, plus an afternoon on the boat with my teenage son, my grandson, and wife.
Not a bad weekend.

Son came in on Saturday, got up this moring and cooked breakfast for us....eggs, bacon, hashbrown casserole and blue brerry muffins. He gave me a card with a gift certificate to one of the big box stores which will give me a good start on insulating and walling up the south side of my shop with peg board. Woooo hoooo.....been wanting that for a while now.
