Can someone give me some guidance in selecting a distributor for my 1988 Bayliner Capri with a 350 chev 4 barrel, along with a cobra stern drive.

Ive found an agent on Ebay that sells Pertronix distributers but has asked me the following Basically '1' is the simple standard unit. 2 has a surge power control so thre unit dosn`t burn out the 3 has the surge and a ajustible rev limiter , there more to it than that but the the short answer Without getting the exact price . #1 is $125 . #2 is $160, #3 about $190 delivered to you . Thanks Mark

I also run an ESA module and want to make sure I order the right one to suit this.

My current prestolite points distributor plays up now and then so hence to why not fix it properly.

Thank you in advance for your help :D

Re: What distributor do I buy

The most important thing to use is a MARINE distributor. I cannot stress that enough. People start trying to run automotive stuff in their boats because it costs less.
Perfect example of why not was on the front page of the News Herald in Lake Havasu City couple days ago.
Guy ran his 38 foot twin engine with non marine alternators. Left it running while he parked his car (which saved his life).
When he got back to the boat, he stepped onto the engine hatch. It was right then that the errant spark ignited the fuel leak and blew him into the air.
He landed on the dock, hurt pretty bad, but alive.
Had he been in the cockpit of the boat he'd have died. The boat burned to the water line.
But he saved $200 on those alternators.
