Jacob, a clue to the year and horse power might help.

if you are talking about the brass screw on the top, that should be the air fuel mixture screw.

Re: What Is This Screw On Carb.....

You are big time "screwing" up.
That looks like my 125 Force. (REALLY HELPS to post just what ya got there!)
DO NOT TOUCH ANY CARB SCREWS!
Seat that screw back in gently, then out 1 1/2 turns...(check what the other carb is at for reference)
NOW !!!!!!!
Look at the pic ya posted. See that white label there?
Back up to yer left on the Tower shaft linkage, that up right rod that runs both carbs. Looking at you about midway, is a Phillips head screw, facing into the motor. THATS THE IDLE SCREW.!!
Its painted black, and hard to see. You need to pick up a MANUAL NOW!
You touch any other screws AT ALL, and you have just screwed up (pun intended)..either the carbs, or timing, and with out spot on, you will torch that motor...go get a MANUAL!

Re: What Is This Screw On Carb.....

OK, looked again..thats a 125 Force, or damn close.
What you have done is closed off the top carb to feed gas AND OIL, to those top 2 pistons...fried motor is in your future at Idle.
Never mind what I said before on what I thought you you did..(thinking Idle jets.)
EDIT HERE it IS the idle jet
HIGHLY SUGGEST, that now that you have messed with the screw up there, that it goes in to someone with knowledge, or you will have starved out gas, AND OIL. You are looking at a fried motor SOON.
Highly "convoluted".."setup" involved here, ING, carb settings, idle, etc.
ALL MUST BE SPOT ON!
WE PREACH HERE, A MANUAL, BEFORE A WRENCH!

Idle mixture screw. Adjust to highest idle rpm reading. Obtain a proper manual or encounter expensive errors.

Re: What is this scew on carburator?? Need quick reply!!

in the marine world there is no left nor right.
its port or stbd looking from stern to bow.
the brass screw on the stbd side aft of the carb is an idle air fuel mixture screw, turning it in leans the engine turning it out makes it richer. best I recall the force engines started at about 2 turns out from lightly seated.
the gearcase MUST be submerged to obtain the correct adjustments.
while force engines are very simple and fairly reliable they, like the rest, must be assembled and adjusted correctly or they dont run correctly.

this is a prime example of not what to do on the forum. you posted this in 3 forums, not telling what motor you have, and have gotten nothing as a result. also have not answered one question.

we are not mind readers.
