Because I work in the Gulf Of Mexico. I'm about as far south as you can get and still be in the USA.

Mare's Folly -- because I am a single woman with NO boat exp or mechanical abilty and I just bought a boat because I love to cruise on the water. My name is Mary, so Mare's Folly seemed like an apt moniker! I keep hoping I'll be proven wrong!

Came up with it a long time ago while playing Sim City on the computer. My last name Thorne and I always liked Roman ruler names like Maximis, Falvious, so anyway that I became Thornious and ruled my cities unmercifully.

Re: What does your username stand for?

Mine means 'CHILL' as in chill out. It's the registration number (license plate?, don't know what you guys call them in America) that i bought for my car. Basically, in England you can't have an 'I' on your plate because it can be mistaken for a '1'. To get around it we use a 'Y' instead of an 'I'. The screw to fix the plate to the car is placed between the two ones to make it look like an 'H', because you can't have a plate beginning with two consecutive letters (believe me, it works!)

Re: What does your username stand for?

I spent many years wrenching on cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats and RV's. Usually the dirtiest jobs. During the 60's, rode with a club and being of Sicilian descent, the members always wanted to use my forehead to grease their chain. Hence my handle and nickname for 50 years. :p :p :p

My name was derived from my interest in anything Vintage which includes old cars, old trucks, old furniture, old houses, and yes.....you guessed it...old plywood boats....it doesn't feel the same in water unless you're using a little wood. ;)

Played guitar in the clubs for years. While I'll never be a rock-n-roll star, I still love to play and almost always have a guitar close at hand. My old beater Ovation is required equipment for a peacefull day fishing.
