What Gasket set do I need? engine swap

I am pulling my Mercruiser 260 out of a 1983 chaperral 198xlc, and replacing with a used chevy 350 2 bolt main short block. My mercruiser 260 block is cracked, as far as i can tell all other bolt ons are still fine. Will hopfully still be the case when i start pulling them off. I plan on reusing all the bolt on parts and replacing the freeze plugs with brass and pulling the cam and reusing the one in the mercruiser. I am no mechanic but consider myself mechanicly inclined. I am needing to by a gasket set but have read that boats need differant gaskets then vehicles. Is it just the head gaskets that have to be marine grade or is it all of the gaskets. Any links out there that i am missing. also any information on this swap will be greatly apreciated

It all depends on your cooling system, if you have a heat exchanger and run antifreeze in the block automotive gaskets are fine. If you have raw water cooling you need marine specific head gaskets.

Ayuh,... Just use Top quality gaskets, like the Fel-pro composite head gaskets, 'n you'll be fine...

So even with raw water cooling the Fel-pro automotive gaskets will do?

Ayuh,... The Composites are Fine,....
Solid steel shim gaskets, No...

Thanks for the quick reply and saving me a bit of money. The marine ones are 2-3 times as much
