Re: What happened to 12Footer?

Isnt he the one a while back who was saying he had to leave the board for a bit and he got an overwelming response to stay??

Not sure what happened after that but I think it was personal reasons.

I may even be thinking of the wrong dude. But I think that was him.

I may be out in left Field, but I think 12ft was
more than a little taken back when he lost his
IP address and came back to explain as 12FTPhoenix
and lost his title and some 3000 + post recognition. And no one made an effort to fix it.
That would make you feel unwelcome for sure. :(

Re: What happened to 12Footer?

That could very well be. I'm wanting to change providers to get something else cheaper. My cable is going up again and want to get out of it. It has been in my mind about what happened to 12footer. Seniority is Seniority and it should be recgonized. To me he is one of the regulars that had lots of input.

I hope that maybe the mods just overlooked him and he fell through the cracks. I thought I had read a post where the mods would take care of letting him back as his username with his seniority of posts. I could be mistaken also....

12Footer, if your reading this, I just hope your doing okay.......SS

Re: What happened to 12Footer?

Why wouldnt be able to come back under the same user name with a different IP??

As long as you have a user name and password you can register from any computer regardless of the IP provider??

I know you guys already know this so what am I missing here??

12footer had the quote "Never met a Merc I didn't love"... :D

" never met a merc I didn't love, 'cept for the 1966 65HP mentioned earlier. It's an inline 4, but whoever designed it was drunk, and not thinkin about the poor schmuck that left gas sittin in the carbs over a long hot summer."
http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=29;t=007214

Very helpful and Knowledable dude.

Re: What happened to 12Footer?

Wow! You guys really know how to swell a guys head!
Thank you all for the kind words. I just couldn't log on. But Admin sent me an email yesterday, with new pw, and I just now got it, that allows me back on. I gotta fly (duty calls), but a brief explaination is in order.
I switched ISP from AOHell to Dirtlink. I went to change my profile to reflect these changes, and as soon as I changed ISP address, iboats dropped me out, and sent me another password......It sent it to AOHell, of which, I was no longer a member!
It's been lonely, and "12FtPheonix" just wasn't any fun (had to look for pw every time.... I'll ellaborate when I git home....runnin late.

Congrats on becomming a grandfather. I reckon it's one of the best things on earth to be. My wee 3yr old gives me so much love that I can keep up with her all day. But it's me that has to have the afternoon nap now!
Ross

Re: What happened to 12Footer?

Thanks, mate. Her name is Trinity Monday (parent's last name is Monday)..I know,I know -- it sounds like a catholic holiday, but I like it too.She is my 4th grandbuddy, and I've allready got her first combo setup for when she is old enough.

Now for that explanation I owe y'all;

The past three months have been busy, productive, and most of all, scarey. Those of you who have retired know the stress of "facing the unknown".
Will I get bored?
Will I be able to afford this?
Well, it became apparent before the date to retire was even made, that the retirement must take place. 30 Years is too long in one place. Also, that my pension would fall-short of meeting the buget Even so, I made a commitment to myself (20 years ago) to jump out of the retiremnent window as soon as it opened. Even tho I knew I had to find a secondary pension. I knew I clearly could not afford to go fishing and sleep-in, like the stereotypical retired guy.

I had visions of a miriad of doors which retirement would open up to a professional with my credentials....HA!!
I expected potential employers lining-up at my front door, making me proposals -- just like the commercials for that loan-shopping site on TV... This did not happen.I started to get a tad worried after the 4th week of job-hunting, with not so much as one interview!!!!
Add to this mix, that my ISP was up for it's yearly contract, the small monetary cushion I had built-up was evaporating swiftly.
Then my unstable computer's rotten core went critical, and I was forced to buy a new Sony Vaio just to be able to continue to check potential jobs, and apply online.
It was the very next day I got a good job, (albeit 30miles one-way from my home).
Things are looking-up for 12Footer and gang. Tina and baby are not only in great health, but her husband is attending church with us! I have so much to be thankfull for. It seems that God has answered my prayers, in the ways that God answers them. Nothing earth-shattering,like winning the lotto, but the lord did provide what me and my family needed.

A couple nights ago, I got an email from admin, giving me a new pw to login with...I didn't get it until this morning, because "Spamblocker", (a feature of Earthlink), put his email into "suspicious" category.Luckily, I recognized his screenname right off the bat, and here I am! Thank you, Admin

Re: What happened to 12Footer?

JB, no need to appologise. First off, you have a massive amount of stuff to keep track of here, I'm sure. And I'm a patient guy. Besides, I did not actually stop comming by, I just read a few things. I sort of misplaced the "12Pheonix" PW, so I didn't bother digging for it to log-in.
But it's not by any action or inaction on your part,JB. Having said all that, it's great to be back. I think I'll browse the Force forum to see what's new.BTW, ikt's a real shame about TMD buggin-out. He was a really nice and helpfull guy.
I may be a bit more scarce than normal here also, as I have to get up at 4AM for werk, and fall-out abt 8PM (so I can get up at 4 lol).
Time is at a premium for me, but I'll never leave my second home (iboats) or my third (that florida fishing site).
