OK I don't have this problem so I was just wondering.

What if your at the Lake and the motor will not trim up for whatever reason. Is there a Manual Way to get the motor up so you can take the boat out of the Water and trailer home?

My Outdrive is a Volvo Penta.

Thanks.

I guess the Question would be what if I cannot get the OutDrive Up not the Motor. NewBee here.

Ayuh,... Disconnect a couple oil lines, Lift, then tie...
Preferably, do the oil line disconnection Inside the boat with rags,...
Not outside the boat spillin' into the water...

Maintenance.....?? One radio drained battery can be sufficient.

Re: What if motor doesn't Trim Up

90% of the time i'ts not the trim pump or motor that stops working, it's that relay switch box or a blown fuse, poor connection etc. If the motor itself is OK, you can raise the drive by disconnecting the wires from the relay box at C and G, then hook a jumper wire to each lead and go directly to the battery. Blue on Pos. Green on Neg and the drive should go up.
If that doesn't work, time to disconnect lines or disconnect the aft trim rams.

Re: What if motor doesn't Trim Up

An actual example which happened to me, hence ending my boating on the last day of the season last year. The trim pump of 30+ years failed and dumped its contents in the bildge. Having recently replaced both hoses and verified it wasnt leaking from there, the pump was vacant of most oil and I was able to lift the outdrive and then attached the trailer bar and tightened it up.

I am looking for a new (used ebay) trim motor now and hopefully will get back on the water for under $100!
