We live in a computer program? This is a theory thrown out by Scientist:

The trouble is computation cannot cause consciousness to arise because computation, as the name implies, runs on pre-programmed axioms.

Godels incompletness theorum and Turing's halting problem proved that consciousness canot be created from an axiomatic system.
It cannot become self aware.
Alan Turing proved it before he even built the first computer.

I read Roger Penrose's "The Emporer's New Mind" and he did a slam dunk on the AI community.

HUmans can get around Godels theorum simply because we have intuition, a computer doesn't have sentience..

Think of it simply,
if you put a video camera in front of a mirror, is it self aware?
Thats how silly the idea is.

Just think, our brains are computers. Most every piece of machinery has a computer in it. Many of us live to play on computers. We use computers at work. Our creator must be a computer genius to say the least.
