What is a good selling price for my boat?

Hello All,

Here's today's question, I am considering buying another boat outright and will sell mine privately. Based on the information below, in your opinions, what is a good starting asking price?

2005 Bayliner 185BR
3.0 V6 with Alpha-One Stern Drive
AM/FM Radio w/ 4 speakers
2005 Kara Single Axle Trailer
Low Hours, no hour meter but I am second owner and know the first owner very well.
Very good maintenance history
Graphics Package
Bow and cockpit canvas plus fitted over all boat canvas
Anchor
Depth Finder

I paid $11,000 for it October 23, 2007.

What ever you can get for it

You might have better luck selling next spring. Everyone this time of year and later are looking for the deals. Next year, it will be the people who waited for tax $$$.

HMMMM, Good idea about waiting, it's paid for and not costing me anything. I realize your point about "What ever I can get for it" but what do you think is a good starting point based on this boat?

Here in Canada you could get your money back, maybe a bit less but not a huge loss. However the economy hasn't hit us quite as hard as you. The best bet is to browse craigslist (or Kijiji here) and get some comparison prices. The luxury item market is pretty rough right now.

I think your best advice would be just to hit craigslist and see what similar boats are going for. You might be surprised in a good way!

That Boat in the UK would get you around 15k . shipping would be around 1k i guess. so worth considering selling to UK maybe ?
