I am wondering iF my tach is correctly set. It seems high. I have a 1998 60hp Evinrude. There is several setting I see back there, It looks like it's set to 6p?? I think that's what is says. I don't remember the other ones off hand , if it matters I can look under there and list the others. I am sure this is a factor gauss on this pontoon with its original motor.

I searched but couldn't really find a definitive answer and the Selhoc manual doesn't cover it.

I'm thinking 6 is correct too. It looked like it said 6p. Bit it also looked like there was a 6c or 6d, I don't remember at this point. If I remember I will reach my hand up in their and take a pic of the back and the settings

verify the tach reading with a hand-held optical tach to make sure

Ok so here is a pic it's pointed toward 6p. But there is also a 6c? Which "6" is it? Behind the wire on the top is a 4 I think it is.

Tried to upload a pic and it told me that it was invalid which is not true? It's a real pic on my phone? Maybe I am having the same trouble as everyone else .

And no I am not getting a photo bucket to upload my pics to just for this site...every other of the half dozen or so other forums I am on I can post right from my phone no issue.

Ok I figured it out. Strange there are so many ways to add attachments. And that it only takes 2mp pics but I got it now, hope it's clear enough cause to downsize it , it blurred it up pretty good.

J know there something to do with number of cylinders that correspond to windings or something under the flywheel I think it is? I'm dangerous here cause I have not read enough on it.

Also different makers use different pulses I think due to differences in ignition systems
