what is the proper motor height

I have a 21i class and a 250 vmax and a 3blade prop. The motor is mounted to a metal bracket that is mounted to the boat. The bracket is not hydraulic.

My question is how does one know or determine the height that the motor should be mounted to the plate for proper performance. The motor can be manually adjusted up or down, and I wanted to know what the proper height was.

When I say height I'm not referring to tilt.

Thanks in advance

The cavitation/ventilation plate on the motor should be near the bottom of your hull. Fine tuning from there will get you in the sweet spot.

Check ownwers manual, there is stated the min and max recommended height from transom's bottom to anticav plate, and this info works well.

Happy Boating
