Sorry I don't have pics and I couldn't really find a plumbing section of the forums but here goes.

I have 1986 29 Cruisers with twin crusader 270's. from my hot water heater a hose goes to a pump, from the pump a hose goes to a "Tee" and off one branch of the "Tee" is a copper tube about 3 inches in diameter and 18 inches long, is this some sort of accumulator or what is it?

thanks
tim

I would bet yes. Is the top of the tube above the level of the water heater?
If yes, when it's filled with air it will act as an anti hammer device while the pump is cycling.

yes the top of it is just above the hot water heater. It just looks small for what I am used to seeing as an accumulator, now are anti-hammer devices and accumulators the same thing??

Reason I am asking is that I am replacing a fresh water pump (jabsco automatic par mate) and the pump I am replacing it with is automatic as well but says to not use it with an accumulator (flojet 4405-143)

thanks
