What is this spring for? I have 30 hp Johnson model J30ELCRR, serial E6004761
I found this spring in the bottom of the power head. One end is broken off of it. I suspect it is for the throttle and advance linkage as mine has slop in it.
I have a Seloc 1971-1989 manual Vol II but I can't find the spring anywhere in it. The pictures in the manual are very poor
which doesn't help.
Let me know your thoughts and if you can provide me with a picture link that would be wonderful.
Also, is this spring something I can still buy?
Thanks

It fits at the top of that shaft for the throttle.---Most dealers might have that in stock or a used one.--It was used on johnson / Evinrude motors for some 30 years of production , so a bvery common part.

Can someone list a picture of how it would go on there? I see one hole in the link arm to the advance plate but no other holes anywhere.
How does this attach?

Does anyone know where i can get a picture of how this thing goes in?
I've been out of town for a while so now I'll have time to install it.
Thanks

Yes !
That helps a great deal. Thank you.
Now I can see where the end of the spring goes. I saw the hole in the arm but didn't know where the other end went.
Perhaps today I'll get it installed.
Cheers

It was a pain to do with my arthritic hands and no grip strength but I got it in :)
Thank you very much.
