What is this?

This 1994 Force 120 HP Serial No. 0E089004 is new to me. I have it mounted to the stand. I started it up and the water pump impeller needs to be changed. My question for the group is, what is this hose? All my other Chrysler and Force OB's do not have it. This Force is newer, made by Mercury.

Can it be capped off? This outboard will be going on an older boat that uses the old style.

Just tuck it up inside the case or run the boats hose to the lower unit.
Or just cut it off, won't hurt anything.
Lots of times the pitot tube on the boat: the tip gets broken off and the speedo doesn't work, make sure it's not broken and the pitot is in the locked position.
