Business wise ( I'm a head hunter, IT) I would say Spanish or German and the bigest one moving forward will be Chineese. They will own the US shortly, and it will be very huge in demand.
If you can speak bi or tri you will have a great shot at a great job. "Just english" is a handicap, think global for the next 10-20 years, the rest of the world already speaks more than one, just America that isnt so much.

I wold prefer to do coastal erosion and maintenance but if I don't get into the grad school I want then EKU has a good hydrology department and a working consulting firm that was donated to them by one of their retiring professors. Ground water monitoring would nat be so much as a second choice as it would be the choice with more than one application ( oil also is found in the gorund and flows through a permeable rock layer when being mined much like an aquifer)

O.K. its official (since I never do whats right ) :facepalm:

I am taking the German class.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I do not expect to excell at any language, I have enough trouble with my native language ( English )

Thankyou for everyones input although I didn't go with your vote at this time I will be going t o grad school after I graduate in the fall of 12 and will probably have the opportunity to study Spanish at that point. For the time Being I am taking my professor's advice and taking German
