What makes you happy/smile?

"Friendships brighten our lives by dividing our sorrows and multiplying our joys."<br /><br />I don't know who originally said that, but I believe it.<br /><br />We have divided up a lot of major sorrows here lately, and shared some of our lives' annoyances.<br /><br />We need more joys to multiply and more smiles to share.<br /><br />The posts about common Bald Eagle sightings make me happy. They nearly disappeared in my lifetime.<br /><br />My youngest daughter (45) is moving back to Texas with her family next month. They will be with us at our regular family gatherings again after several years of absence. Having my descendants around me makes me very happy. I know it does the same for other grandparents here. How about you?<br /><br />What is making you happy/smile today?

MY 3 biggest joys are; my family, boating and<br />fishing. when all 3 come together at the same <br />time, life is perfect!

Seeing a childs face light up in delight when they get up on skis for the first time.<br /><br />When I come home from work so tired I can just barely shower and get to bed, my kids come in and kiss me goodnight just as I drift off too sleep. Kind of a reversal of traditional roles..

Lots of things make me smile.<br />I am a happy person at heart, so the biggest part of the time, I am happy.<br /><br />Was at a B-day part for 2 of my grandkids yesterday and they always put a smile on my face.<br />Also Little John, the newest, is at the lauging at anything you say or any kind of face you make at him and that puts a smile on my face.<br /><br />And just thinking about all the different kinds of people and their mindset on this forum always puts a great big smile on my face, no edit that, makes me ROFLMAO most of the time.

Good thread JB. I a world that tends to notice the Negative it's nice to view the positive.<br /><br />My Daughter makes me smile everyday along with my wife. This site give me a chuckle for the funnies and the comraderie. the fact that there are people out here that you have never met other than in a forum will do so much for others makes you warm and fuzzy.

Little kids make me laugh, and going to a new town and just stopping to talk to strangers, especially the old people, The wildlife around my house, my two foolish cats,firing up a an old motor that hasn't been run in years is the best, parades, good food, good jokes, falling off the trailer when trying to load a boat, watching someone you care about catch a big fish, catching a big fish, but mostly sharing these pleasures will others.

Well, my boys and my wife always make me smile. The boys always come runnin and hug Dad as soon as I get home from work. Sometimes, I just watch them play, even though they don't know i'm watching. That always makes me smile. They are such good kids. I am soo lucky to have those boys and my wife. God has surely blessed me!<br /><br />Our Church basketball team won by eight points yesterday, we haven't won in two years. That made me smile. 'ol Carpy scored 14, and had numerous assists. Not too bad for an old man.<br /><br />I'm with SBN, i'm just a happy person, and there are lots of things that make me happy.<br /><br />My friends here make me smile, thats why I keep coming back!

Many things make me smile. The innocence of a child, their laughter and joy, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, the wind whistling through the trees and the sound of birds chirping in the morning and nightingales when I sleep, family and friends sharing good food and good times. Fishing early in the morning on still water and being one with nature.<br /><br />Happiness is a state of mind. Therefore the real source of happiness lies in my mind, not in external circumstances or pleasures. It’s a journey, not a destination. Happiness should be found along the way, not at the end of the road. It’s giving not receiving, being able to find joy in another's joy, that’s my happiness.

Polite, cosiderate people. Being out in fresh snow. Fishing. Hunting. Watching my kids, all kids, have fun in a good way. Fixing something. My dog. 1st. cup of coffee in the morn. Listening to the whipperwill (sp) most evenings, (in season). Jesus. Thunder/lightning. Cute women. Cold beer. Pizza. Hugging my wife. Hugging kids. Our military. UPS delivery. Frazz. Dilbert. Patrick McManus.

Today: I smile when I think about my son going to pre-k today and the teacher looks at his black and blue nose and asks what happened.( He jumped off the bed and grabed the curtian over the closet entry, somehow he attempted a backflip from the curtian and and hit the closet rod with his nose ) I think he broke his it. We havent decided if we will get it ex-rayed or not.

The latest thing that made me smile, seeing my Hubby's face first thing in the morning and the last face I see before shutting my eyes. How did I get so blessed? I must have done something right. <br /> Got our Mercury Mark 55 motor going. Yippee!! Nothing like a good sounding motor to bring a smile to your face. Love that!<br />Hearing my spaniel, Elijah, howl at the coyotes always gets me. He hits this high note that crackes me up. That really good kinda laugh that gives your whole body this tingling feeling. <br /> It's been difficult laughing lately, but its getting easier. Good thread JB.<br />Bassy

Just learning that it is looking good for the littlest aspeck and my beautiful, wonderful wife may be coming to visit me the BEGINNING of April instead of the end put a big smile on my face! Will be the first wedding anniversary (other than when we said "I DO") that we will have been able to spend together! My smile is from ear to ear!<br /><br />Lots of other things make me smile, good friends, a Penn State win, UK Wildcats beating the stuffings out of Louisville, spending time in God's creation, spending time with God, and the list goes on. Yes, I am smiling most of the time!

Well for starters my 5 yr old son, always! My older daughters as they are going through so many changes(high school, etc) and when they fly up to see us. Taking kids fishing for first time and having THEM skunk me and catch 4-5 HUGE catfish , taking my boat out and cutting through sloughs as fast as possible(alone, with kids or friends) THAT really gives me a rush! Going shooting with my old/newer milsurp rifles, seeing a DOUBLE rainbow last week, going to a TOUGH jobsite for 4-5 days, freezing/or sweating butt off, have everything go wrong and then actually pulling it off and making all work BEFORE deadline, meeting new folks in very different parts of country, seeing folks that are VERY bad off SMILING(woman in NY state) WALKING to store w/ 3 kids, no car, husband, and WALKING all way back CARRYING what little groceries they could afford and all smiling(makes ya feel lucky), kids when they actually listen and learn and thank you for showin them, walkin through a stream catching rainbow trout left and right, taking a break from fishing because you caught so many, your tired(Alaska salmon). Thats about it for now, Heinz
