What Octane for 78' 70hp 3cyl. Evinrude?

Just curious as to the octane gas I should be running in my pre-mix? I've been running 93, however, I'm seeing a lot of posts to this site on other horsepower running 87. I'm wondering if that may help with some starting issues I've been having? Any help would greatly be appreciated.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />pfistey1

87 octane (fresh), TCW3 oil and Champion plugs. As long as the motor is in good working order you should be good to go. The old motors that have a choke may not start as quick as the ones with primer injection but you shouldn't have any problems.<br /><br />Good luck!
