what plugs for my 1979 merc...

i have a 1979 merk 20 HP that has the champion L78v plugs in it now but i dont like the "ski" plug type (flat plug no electrode)... what would be a sutable champion replacement? any help would be great!!

Why don't you like the surface gap plugs? The center of the plug is the electrode.

I have never heard of an alternate plug for the surface gap ones. They are supposed to be resistant to fouling, BTW.
