i have this mercury mirage plus # 48-18278 17 pitch is this a good prop for a 26 foot carver montego merc 5.7 real heavy boat . itis in great condition, i wish someone could trade me a 15 pitch.

bolo i know you are looking for the fountain of youth......buy a 14 pitch prop..... even viagra cant change what you have....

have to bump this up here guys???? a guy in my marina wants this prop for his alpha one drive, afte reading the number on the prop, and cal mercury, he state that this prop is not for an alpha drive, it is only for a bravo or some outboard, i was told this mirage plus can work with the alpha drive, please correct me if i am wrong, if not why,?? or what could happen?? thanks for any info. regard.

Maybe it could work with a different hub, but only Mercury can tell you for sure. Does it have the older style pressed in rubber hub or is it one of the newer style that you can take apart yourself?

thanks the hub kit is the regular xhs tipe hub kit the same one i am using on my four blade comes out real easy. not the hub that stays in perment. it mate up with the alpha just fine fit perfect, so what is the real problem, .
