what should I use between old floor and new floor

Me again, was wondering what to use to seal the new floor piece to the old floor piece. I cut out a section, and am going to cut a new piece to replace it, just wondering what to put between them, is there a special sealer?

If the floor needs to be waterproof, that is if there is foam under it, then you should use fiberglass resin and cloth. If it has an empty bilge, intended to drain (pretty rare), then you may use anything you want to hold it in place.
