I am getting 65lbs of compression on both cylinders on this 1964 Sea king 5.5hp. Is this good or what? The motor does run but I have been starting it by a power drill sense I'm missing the recoil starter so I don't know how easy it will start by recoil start.

I'm trying to sell this motor and I wanna make sure that I'm not selling a piece of junk.

65lbs is adequate. These little motors don't develope to much compression. You could try doing a decarb with something like sea foam.

Adequate meaning sufficient to satisfy a requirement or meet a need. That will work for me. That little '59 Johnson 5.5hp got 85 pounds of compression on both of those, but I figured I couldn't compare this Sea king to it because they are 2 different motors.

Thanks Steelespike.
