I have a 15ft or 4.6 meter nautiglass half cab 78 model.
I use the boat to go outside fishing and in lakes as well.
It has a 55hp chrysler on it now which is to small for crossing a bar at times.
What would be an ideal size for the boat if i put a brand new 2 stroke on it.
PS. The transom is rated to 85 hp.
regards moorbee

Ideal size is the Max that the boat will allow. No one wishes the had less power.. Although the 55 should move it just fine... I would say a jump to a newer 70HP would get you where you would like to be to be, as they are rated at the propshaft, as opposed to the powerhead..

Keep in mind that your "55 Horse" Chrysler was only putting out about 43- 48 hp at the prop.
