What size battery for a Johnson 140?

I am having trouble working out what size battery for my engine i cannot find any info of the size it requires in the manual. could anyone help me out please?

The minimum sized battery is stated in the specifications section of your owner's manual or factory service manual.

My 1988 140 requires a minimum of 360 CCA @ 0 degrees F. or -18 degrees C.

I use 650 CCA or larger but they are Dual purpose deep-cycle because I run accessories.

You would be OK with a marine starting battery at the recommended level if you don't plan on much extra load.

BTW, Don't let them confuse you with MCA ratings.

More than enough is better than just enough. A few more pounds but well worth having.

Andy, A single group 24 battery is fine to start the motor and power the boat, provided that you do not have any serious power-using accessories that you run with the motor off. A normal stereo system, FishFinder and GPS do not use much power. If you run a live bait well, night lights or monster stereo or use an inverter to power stuff, with the motor off, you will need a larger battery or two or more batteries.
