What size circuit breaker?

I am planning on rewiring my pontoon boat. Currently there is just a wire that runs to the helm to the switch for the lights.

I am wanting to run a larger wire to a fuse box/distribution center in the helm. I want to be able to then run connections off the fuse box for my fish finder, a future radio, the lights and possible future expansions.

My question is, what gauge wire would be recommended? What size circuit breaker should I use at the battery to protect the overall circuit?

Run a 10 or 8 gauge wire with a 40 or 50 amp breaker. Make sure you also run the same size ground wire back.
