I have 1967 Mercury, 9.8hp, model 110. The motor starts easily after a few pulls but seems to run rough after it starts. I seem to have good spark and I cleaned out the carb really good and compression is good. I was told that I could have the wrong spark plug for this motor. Can anyone tell me what plug I should have in this motor, whether it be champion, autolite, etc.?

thanks

My seloc says a champ L4J and gap em to .030
There are also points in that motor that may need cleaning and the gap set to .020 They are under the fly wheel ... use the search button above to learn how to pull the flywheel, if you are unsure...
Regards Jon
