@ncoop & starcraftkid Excellent thought, I do take on a little water now and again (Never have been able to locate the source)but now I pull the drain plug after each outing.Spent a few days on the TN river and was still less than a half gallon. Im not sure about the trailer brake requirement. Any thoughts on how to find out? Maybe contact DOT ?

According to the trailer rules sticky Tennessee requires brakes at 1500 pounds. Not sure if I believe that, but in any case, you can find out for sure by calling THP. They'll give you the straight dope. I'd expect them to say 3000 pounds, which your rig exceeds without question. If it were mine I'd just go ahead and add them, but it's up to you of course. It would be worth a visit to a truck stop or weigh station to determine the weight. If you find that it's over 4500 pounds (even accounting for the PT furniture bases) I'd say something's not right.
