Hi All,

I have an inmar 5.7 v8 direct drive (1991 no power steering). Can anybody tell me what the pullys on the front of the engine are for, the one on the left middle looks like the altinator, but not sure what the others are for?
The reason I ask is that a friend of mine turned the top pully a couple of times, but the belt did not move, just slipped round and I am wondering if it could have knocked something out.

Cheers
Ross

I would guess that you have an alternator, a raw water pump, and a engine circulation water pump. All belts need to be tight.

You would be correct ;) I also have an Indmar 351 and that is exactly what is on the front. Looking from the front of the motor the front gap is for the alternator, The second gap is for the engine water pump. The raw water pump is mounted on the crank pulley and isnt attached to a belt. If you have any more questions, let me know.
Later,
