spray it on unwanted weeds...lazy mans way of weed whacking.

Pretty sure that's illegal...

If it smells like varnish, dispose in a qualified landfill. If it's just old, mix 4:1 with good gas and burn it in the car.

Use mine mixed with oil change oil with a 5gal pump sprayer for weeds , fire starting with out the volatilaty, still have hair , coon removal from culverts , and spraying farm implements for rust protection . Get more used oil than bad gas because wifes car , changed oil twice this year requires 8 qts each time .

I'm jumping onboard with using it.

Depending on how old or bad the gas is, dump a gallon at a time into a full tank in your truck. You probably wont notice the difference.

You would be surprised on WHAT will burn in a combustion engine...I have burned old gas, kerosene, coleman lantern fuel, wood alcohol and moonshine. What surprised me the most is how well kerosene will perform ( you have to have a little gas to get it started then switch over. Now I am not talking about the computer controlled engines but I wouldn't hesitate if I was in survival mode.

Do what I do....Take it with you next time you go boating and tip it in the water.

You have got to be kidding. Pollution is bad enough - but to suggest deliberately pouring any kind of petroleum product (or any hazardous material) in to a water shed is just plain wrong and despicable. Do the right and responsible thing and take to a hazardous disposal sight.

I have 15 of 20 gals left from draining a boat tank 2 years ago. It still works fine in the 4 stroke Honda lawnmower. Contact your local Hazmat Disposal Site, the ones in our area will take it for a small fee with a maximum of 20 gals per day per person. There is a way to render it environmentally safe using hazmat disposal procedures and common off the shelf products but you have to be certified to do it or you'll still be in violation of the law.

P.S. No, don't even ask me for the procedures, I am certified in Hazmat Disposal and I still don't do it at home.

Yeah, dumping it in the waterways is a way to be disrespectful to boaters, swimmers, and fish. That for sure is violation of the law and can land a very big fine.

Spraying weeds with it does two things. It kills the weeds and it will evaporate plus it is actually cheaper than weed killer.

OP never did say how old it was and how it was stored. Yes a small amount like a half gallon or less will lose its octane in months. I have never had problems with gas in a 5 gallon container closed up that was stored for a year or so. If it is a year old or so, just mix it with fresh. It may not have the performance of 100% fresh, but it will burn. I've gotten worse burning fuel right out of a station many times.

Re: What to do with bad gas?

I burn it in my bullet heater................I turn the feed down and it is way less smelly than K1 and with that lower feed rate, it lasts a lot longer. If the fuel is especially old I have to turn the flow up a little so that it burns hotter and I don't get that rotten fuel smell. I have been doing it this way for 24yrs in the same unit without incident but cannot recommend anyone else try it.

Throw it in a box, I'll take it;)

Lawn mower, chainsaw, weedwhacker and pitbike seem to run just fine off whatever skanky gas I drain out of my project vehicles.

Could talk to a trucker, I know some of them use to add a couple of gallons of gas in cold weather to stop gelling. Unless it was real old woul burn in small engines, The next step mixing with fresh gas in small amounts. Beyond that would check with a gas station see if they might want it.

Re: What to do with bad gas?

I just disposed of about a gallon of bad gas I had that I didnt even want to mix with good gas and use in my lawnmower.

I just dumped it into a spare bucket and set it outside of the shop under my overhang so rain wouldnt get at it.

a week later and its all evaporated. even when its lost its octane, the rest is still various hydrocarbon chain compounds. it will evaporate.
