Looking for a easy way to keep rods from being damaged while in the boat and going down the freeway. Please post pictures if you have them. The boat is a 14' Valco tinny and the curved sides make it difficult to put the rods there. We usually have 4 rods but only fish with 2 at a time so it would be nice to store the other rods out of the way while fishing. The last time I went out, I broke a rod tip while the rods were bouncing around in the boat going down the highway.

I've had good luck with velcro rod wraps over the years. Should be able to find them at a sporting goods store or your local tackle shop. I wrap one around the grips and one up closer to the tips, usually about two thirds of the way up. Several rods bundled together and wrapped are too heavy to blow out of the boat, but just for good measure I'll run the upper wrap through something stationary in the boat before wrapping it around the rods. I've been doing this for years in john boats and never lost or damaged a rod. Might work for you.

I used the velcro like Incoop cept I attatched one to the bench seat in the back & one to the middle bench seat, I lay my rods down & wrap them with the velcro. Works great.

A womans hair clip will also hold many rods together, the big ones that look like chip clips.

And get some Ugly Sticks, I have literally shut one in the rod locker, stepped on them you name it and never once broke one so I am sure they could survive a trip down the highway.

Cheap; get four 6 foot sections of pvc pipe and use bungee cord around the seats to hold thepvc in place along the boats centerline while "bouncing down the road". When you get to the launch toss them in your car and go fishing...

On the boat, get a multi rod holder and mount it out of the way.
