What type of wheel should I buy

I want to get some nice looking wheels for my boat trailer. Just wondering what would be the best type of wheel to get as far as longevity of the wheel from corrosion. Looks like my choices are aluminum, chrome, painted steel and galvanized. I think I have galvanized wheels right now but they look like junk. Thanks

I usually run painted rims on all my trailers. They are easy to maintain and easy to replace if you need a new one on the road. With that being said, I found a set of aluminum mag wheels, this spring, that would fit my bass boat trailer. They where a real deal and look sharp. I sanded them out with 1200 grit and put a high luster finish on them with a buffer. So far the finish is holding up really well. I do clean them after every use. My be a bit to much work for most folks.

Galvanized. Whats it matter what they look like? You put your trailer in car shows?

No, but the rig sits in the driveway. Most expensive yard ornament with the exception of the F250. Makes it look like I know how to catch Bass!

If you loved it you would keep it in the garage ;)

I had to downsize my house and ended up buying a corner property. (Price was right) Little to my knowledge the zoning laws in my township regarding corner properties stink. About the only thing I can put up is an 10 x 12 shed. Two boats, truck, car, camper, sawmill, tractors, tillers all have to sit outside under tarps until I can figure out how to get past the zoning laws. Makes me sick.

I'm really felling like I should head back home to Western NY. Better fishing anyways.

You can buy some nice aluminum trailer wheels. I would like to do that to my trailer. The ones I like or brushed aluminum and black 6 spoke design. Take your pick. Among other things, make sure offset is right and weight rating is right.

If I put my trailer in a car show, it wouldn't have a Bayliner sitting on it. ;)

I have some CHEAP wally world wheels. Painted. Work just fine. Trailer isn't a work of art by any means.

Thanks I'll check out those websites. Maybe I will just keep the galvanized ones but it seems like when looking for just tires (which is what I really need), its not that much more expensive to get a wheel/tire combo.

Trailer tires on steel or galvanized wheels seem that way. It's when you get into the shinny ones the price of the rim goes up considerably.
