I will have to replace my vro pump on my 99 Johnson 90Hp engine.
Now I have been looking around and there seem to be two kits. One is 5004559 and 5004558.
I know one of them is to replace the older pumps.
But wich one should I get to replace my pump ?
And what is the difference between the two kits ? Are they different pumps or is it just the extra's that you get with it ??

Thanks
stef.

Your parts book and the updated numbers in the price book will tell you to use the ....558 pump kit.

All the new "VRO" pumps are the same thing, only the external fittings are different. The ....558 kit is for the 60 degree V4 and V6 motors that use a fitting with 2 orings for the fuel outlet. The ....559 is for all the other motors and includes formed hoses and an extra wire for converting old sytle "VRO's" to the new 4 wire alarm system.

Re: What VRO pump to get ??

why are you replacing the vro, is it bad....have you had anyone test it, if the fuel side is still good, which in most cases it is, just disconnect the oil side and premix your gas, it will save you some money and you can put it in gas to keep boating, heres how you do it just in case.......the oil line is the small 1/4 inch hose. undo the clamp from the vro and carefully pull the hose off, take that yellow y shaped plug and stick it in the hose to keep debris out, or a bolt works good to....then on the sensor side of the vro, its a little 1x2 rectangle mounted to the vro there is a black plug with some wires in it, unplug that plug..this disables the alarm from going off telling you you have no oil......... if your not sure about doing this yourself have your dealer do it, and just tell them you are going to premix..remember 50:1
