what year and hp?

Hello, does anyone have information on year and hp of an evinrude sportwin model #9422-s? It has 9.9 on cover but not sure if it means hp. I think it is either a 64 or 65. The serial # is E09535. It is my brother's motor and we are tring to replace waterpump and gaskets. He tells me it looks like the letter "S" after the model number. Thanks

Model 9422S is a 1964 9.5hp Evinrude NOT a 9.9hp. The letter after the model number, whether it is a "S" or some other number is simply a factory run number and is of no consequence.
