What year is my motor

Hello. I am purchasing a used boat for my father, and it has a Yamaha 9.9 on it. Was wondering what the year is, and how good of a motor these are. Assuming that the motor runs fine, ( It looks great ) What do you think this should be worth. I am trying to convince my father that a Starcraft 14ft deep v hull boat with this motor , trailer, and trolling motor is a good deal for $1500.00. What do you think ? Thanks for the help. Dave

94 model. The motor alone in good condition would bring close to that in our area.
