What year mercruiser

I have a 165 hp mercruiser but don't know what year.. Can anyone tell me off this serial # 3568835 or where to look? The Mercruiser site does not list it...Thanks again

It is a mid-seventies. The '70 - '78 serial numbers ram from 2770032 through 5178958. That should get you close enough for most parts. But if you still need an exact year we'll have to hold out to see if Don or someone else can dig a little deeper.

I can't help either. Merc doesn't go back that far with all the good info. From about 0A000000 on up is where they start.

Merc goes by serial number only, not year.
