Doc sez I need one. What am I in for? Is that the same as a cat scan? Most importantly, have I gotta wear one of them silly little get ups where your crack hangs out?:$
Yup, Cat scan......
Painless unless you fall off the table.......
Wear sweat pants and sweat shirt.. (no metal objects) ....no need to expose your bidness , unless you want too , of course.
I remember when I had one a year and a half ago.......when they went to inject the dye in my blood, the IV exploded all over the inside of the machine and I was covered in a mixture of my blood, the IV, and the dye.8)
I work in an office that has one of the 64slice CT scanners. You probably wont have enough time to listen to a song on an ipod. What are of the body will they be scanning?
Not sure if is this correct info but I believe they inject you with a radio active isotope in this procedure. Where is your thread on Mattresses, in the good news foerrimmmm
The CT scanner is the part putting off the radioactivity. IF they will be using contrast, then they will start an IV in your arm if it is not a contrast CT then there will be no IV. IF IT IS A CONRTAST CT then be prepared to feel like you've peed your pants. If it is not a contras ctt then you will feel nothing and be done within minutes. The test that technostingray is talking about is either a PET scan (which detects cancer cells) or a Thallium Stress test (which does involve radioactive material being injected into your arm) or an MRI or MRA. Hope this helps clarify the situation.
