A joke with racial overtones is disrespectful not just to the person in the story. It's disrepectful to the people you tell it to. Making it into a joke does not make it less disrepectful. When I objected to a racially motivated joke, you said "people should say sticks and stones...", but when you were offended you said "can't put the bullet back in the gun", a clever way of saying "stuff your gddmned apology". The only logical response to that is GFYATHYRIO. need help decoding that? it includes the words "rode in on", "horse" and "yourself".

I disagree pointer I for one think your posts add to this forum..........more like a nickle.....kiddin you always add something to a post your postin in. Oh and there may be 70,000 iboats members but........only a very select few ever become regular cellar dwellers.....we are a breed unto ourselves

Everyone has their opinion and wishes to express it. That shouldn't be a problem. But then folks have their opinions about other folks' opinions, and that's where we start finding thin skin and thin ice. And then when someone appears to have brought an agenda to the boards, that's when all hell will break loose.

If we have an opinion about someone else's opinion there is no problem.<br /><br />It becomes a problem when we mistake the opinion for the person and comment on the person rather than the opinion. That is when things get ugly and the ZAP button starts beeping.<br /><br />With threads like this you can almost count on things getting ugly at somewhere around 50 posts, so I am gonna stop it now.
